“Fading Halo” 2002
The University of Pennsylvania, ‘Penn Dance’, commissioned this composition. It features ten dancers who traverse the space in canons and elongated movements, while intimately conveying ones need for affection and gratification in a relationship. This work was performed at Iron Gate Theater.
"Flesh Wound" 2000
The use of light and form to create unique environments was essential to Philadelphia artist Karen Breese as well as composer John Vosbikian. This solo work was specifically created for Philadelphia dancer Kristen Shahverdian. The musical score was constructed by distorting samples of the choreographer’s voice into patterned motifs. The task was to deliberately hide and transform fragmented movements with light and sound without using any existing theater lighting, performed at Conwell Dance Theater.
